Andrew is leading the charge to dismantle outdated health insurance approaches and challenging organizations to build new ways to bring affordable healthcare to their employees.

Andrew didn’t invent benefit captives, but he and Andrew Clayton were among the first to understand the incredible potential of self-insurance and captives to transform the employee benefits market. Prior to forming ParetoHealth, Andrew helped found Garnet Captive Services, LLC and Elevate Insurance Services, LLC. He retains a seat on the boards of both companies.

Andrew started his career in commercial banking and worked at several publicly traded insurance companies. He has served on committees and boards of industry groups such as the Self-Insurance Institute of America (SIIA).

Andrew is a graduate of Swarthmore College.

Andrew Clayton has nearly 25 years of experience creating captives and employer-centric risk financing programs. 

Andrew’s areas of expertise include healthcare finance, risk management, and cost containment. He has structured property and casualty captives for Fortune 500 companies but is best known as an industry leader in the employee benefit group captive space, as he has helped ParetoHealth to pioneer new ways to deliver affordable, scalable healthcare benefits. 

Prior to ParetoHealth, Andrew spent five years as Vice President of the Group Captive Division at Berkley Accident & Health, LLC. He has also served as Vice President at J.B. Collins and Associates and Vice President at Commonwealth Risk Services.

Andrew is a graduate of Swarthmore College.

Maeve has 15+ years of experience in healthcare and technology and is responsible for driving strategy and execution as Pareto builds on the momentum created in the company’s first decade of driving access to affordable and improved healthcare for small and medium businesses.

Maeve was most recently the CEO of Castlight Health (NYSE: CSLT), a leader in health navigation. She led the transformation of Castlight and drove the company’s combination with Vera Whole Health to create Apree Health in 2022. She joined Castlight as a product manager in 2010 and held a variety of leadership roles across product, sales, marketing, customer success, and operations through the company’s period of hyper growth, IPO, and M&A. Prior to Castlight, Maeve was a venture investor at Highland Capital Partners where she helped incubate and launch Generation Health (acquired by CVS Caremark). Maeve began her career at Bain & Company.

She holds a BA from the University of Virginia and MBA from Stanford.

Gary is a technology visionary with more than 17 years of experience in leading and building IT teams to deliver B2B and B2C products in healthcare, clean technology, online & retail CPG, distribution, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, and staffing. 

As CTO at ParetoHealth, Gary’s focus is on the planning, development, and implementation of innovative technology solutions to address our wealth of emerging business opportunities.  

Prior to joining ParetoHealth, Gary worked on digital transformations in start-up and corporate environments— helping them deliver fast, scalable, and rapid product-to-market growth. His clients included Timelife, AllStar Marketing, Irwin Naturals, American Historic Society, Kaiser Permanente, Dyson, Target, HomeDepot, Walmart, Globalcare Analytics, and more.

Gary is a graduate of California State University and authored a patent for a transaction analysis and asset recovery system during his work in healthcare arena.

Cem Behmoaram joined Warburg Pincus in 2011 and has worked across London and New York, where he is currently based. He focuses on the healthcare sector, including the firm’s investments in Summit Health, Quantum Health, and ParetoHealth.

Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he worked in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch. He received a Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Will Bondurant joins Pareto Health with public and private company experience in a wide range of finance and business functions, largely within the healthcare and health tech space. Prior to joining Pareto Health, Bondurant was CFO of Apree Health, a private-equity-backed advanced primary care company. He began his career in healthcare consulting at McKinsey & Company, going on afterward to hold several leadership roles, including serving as the CFO of Castlight Health, a publicly-held healthcare technology company. At Castlight Health, in addition to finance, his ten-year career included roles leading Customer Success, Customer Support, Professional Services, and Health Plan Sales. Will is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and on the Board of Mount Tamalpais College.

Thomas “TJ” Carella joined Warburg Pincus in 2016. Based in New York, he serves as a Managing Director and is Head of the Healthcare group. He is a Director of Aetion, Alignment Healthcare, Bond Vet, Ensemble Health Partners, ParetoHealth, Quantum Health, and WebPT.

Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, TJ was a Partner in the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs and Global Head of the Division’s Private Equity activities in the healthcare sector. While at Goldman Sachs, he led or was actively involved in several investments across Life Sciences, Healthcare Services, and Healthcare Information Technology.

TJ earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and then obtained his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Rafael is a Partner at Great Hill Partners and is responsible for originating and evaluating investment opportunities in the software, healthcare, and business services sectors. He is currently a Director of ParetoHealth, PartsSource, Quantum Health, RxBenefits and Vatica Health. He is a former member of the Boards of Qualifacts and DealerRater and was also involved in the investments of Passport Health Communications and Wayfair. Prior to joining Great Hill, Rafael held positions at Battery Ventures, Technology Crossover Ventures, Goldman Sachs and RBC Capital Markets.

Rafael earned a degree in finance from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

At ParetoHealth, Ben drives underwriting strategy and profitable growth with our strategic partners.

Ben has over 15 years of experience in the group insurance marketplace in underwriting, distribution operations, lean management, and product management. 

Before joining ParetoHealth, Ben led stop loss underwriting and was a Market Line Leader for Voya Stop Loss. His prior experience also includes working with Liberty Mutual and Sun Life. He received his bachelor’s in marketing from Bryant University and an MBA from Bentley University.

Ashley has more than a decade of experience in developing strategic benefit plans, claims analysis, financial performance analysis, regulatory compliance adherence and support, and coordination of ongoing client services.

Ashley is responsible for the development, execution, and oversight of our medical and pharmacy cost control strategy. Her team creates turnkey health solution platforms to simplify and streamline the adoption of our strategy—and to maximize the value of our strategic partnerships: with TPAs, PBMs, and cost containment vendors. 

Ashley also oversees the use of clinical data analytics to identify care intervention and claim reduction opportunities, and the identification and evaluation of the latest in care innovation and population health.

Before joining ParetoHealth in 2020, Ashley spent eleven years as Senior Consultant and then Senior Vice President at AIA, Alera Group, where she was responsible for the operating unit oversight and ongoing development of AIA’s advanced health management and clinical intervention portfolio. 

Ashley is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

Kristen brings over ten years of experience managing internal operations and developing growth strategies that benefit employers, consultants, and insurance carrier partners. 

Kristen is responsible for balancing the growth and profitability of all captive programs. She oversees all underwriting operations including stop-loss marketing, renewal negotiations, and new client implementations.

Prior to ParetoHealth, Kristen worked for The Savitz Organization, where she was part of a team that handled the pension administration for a multitude of clients, including international pharmaceutical companies. 

Kristen is a graduate of Swarthmore College.

Monica brings nearly twenty years of multi-faceted human resources experiences specializing in startup and high growth healthcare companies. She has had to build and scale companies from the ground up and also continuously transform healthcare technology businesses globally through their most important asset, their people.

At Pareto, Monica develops, drives and executes the People strategy in support of the overall strategic direction of the organization.

Before joining Pareto, Monica led and oversaw constant transformation as the Global Human Resources Officer at LifeScan, maker of the iconic OneTouch ™ products. Her prior experience also includes working as the VP of Human Resources & Chief Compliance Officer at Genomind, a genetic testing company. Monica was employee number 4 and built the award-winning company from the ground up alongside the rest of the leadership team. Monica received her bachelor’s in business administration and holds her Senior Professional in Human Resources designation.
